“ My purpose on Earth is to experience the beauty of life.” Train for Heaven on Earth
My story
Oneya Barbara Rajšel
I grew up in two worlds: the first in my earliest childhood represented the daily work on a farm in a small village during the day, the second appeared in the evenings with the obligatory bedtime story.
This was followed by school years in which I ‘devoured’ different books (including encyclopedias) and ‘chewed’ youth literature in the home and school library until about the fifth grade, and then started reading novels. I remember my first one very well – The Wyndspell Child (from the Wyndspelle trilogy by Aola Vandergriff) – and the witch who summoned the forces of wind and sea for help, still accompanies me today.
In addition to fairy-tale-witchcraft reading, my life and writing were most influenced by Janez Jalen and his Beavers, whose events I know practically by heart to this day and admire the strength, ingenuity and perseverance of the brave Sharphorn Deer…
After graduating from high school in economics, I wanted to study history or criminology, but the universe apparently had different plans for me. During my studies of Slovene and sociology of culture, I studied the Slovenian literary canon in detail, learned about world literature and studied the theories of sociologists, psychologists and psychologists (Freud, Jung, Marx, Engels, Nietzsche, Kierkegaard, etc.)
After my studies, I jumped into metaphysical waters, began to explore spiritual literature, alternative medicine, and science. Among the many authors, I was most impressed by R. Bach, P. Coelho, S. Bambaren, J. Gaarder, J. Campbell, C. Pinkola Estes, A. Kezele …
“Usually people don’t turn out to be what the first look shows and they hint at different stickers. I’m no exception. If the teens I teach or their parents knew …” – Train for Heaven on Earth

I was born in Novo mesto and grew up among fields, forests and vineyards in a small village in Dolenjska region of Slovenia.

I graduated in the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana and became a professor of Slovene and Sociologist of Culture. By researching and writing my diploma thesis for both fields of study (Female Literary Characters in the modern Slovenian novels of Miha Mazzini), I learned about the psychological and sociological factors for the formation of human identity, and the expectations of the consumer society, the myths of femininity as the second sex, the hidden influences of culture, the media, etc.,
After graduation, I jumped from the scientific research world to the world of spirituality and alternative medicine, and in addition to reading such literature, in my life I practically tried various types of meditations, invocations, visualizations …, sound therapy, healing with the help of energies, crystals, aromatherapy …

Following the instructions of numerological analysis, I officially added Oneya to my name Barbara, which is used on the oldest continent (Africa) for both – male and female names, as well as a surname, and (in the language of the African tribe) it means: Child born in the land of God.
