M. Pogačnik in his book Slovenia Miraculous, writes about the Balkans as the womb of Europe, which embodies the springs of life itself, and Plitvice as the southern part of the elementary heart system of Europe. The purpose of Plitvice is “… to imprint in the memory of water and minerals the life impulses constantly born by the womb of Europe, centered in the Bosnian pyramids near Visoko. Water is the most sensitive recorder of memory and information, so it is the first in line to maintain contact with the abdominal cavity of Europe, where the designs of the embodied worlds of the Earth are born.
Plitvice can perform this role because the water streams there open up so much with the help of countless waterfalls that they can breathe in a sufficiently wide spectrum of memory. Plitvice is built on the principle of flowing water from one container to another. The intelligence that shaped them obviously knew what Plitvice as a water sanctuary is for… I understand the ‘heart of water’ as the core around which our body of water is organized. In humans, the heart of water is located in the area of the solar plexus. It is the ‘lowest’ aspect of the elemental heart, the closest to the source of life…
The pulses of the heart of water should circulate freely throughout the body in order for the body to be sufficiently ‘soft’ or relaxed. Only in such a ‘watery’ state can all dimensions of the Earth’s universe be imprinted on the body, which means that a person can become a complete being. On the contrary, all sorts of concepts and ideological schemes are stuck in the head, which do not allow the love of water to flow freely through the body. They paralyze it …” (Marko Pogačnik: Slovenia Miraculous, Plitvice Water Sanctuary)
Tara and I visited Plitvice on 31/10/2024, during the week of the autumn promotional campaign, when you can buy a ticket for €10, the visit is always free for dogs, and no one mentioned the muzzle. To avoid staying in front of the entrance due to too many visitors, it is best to buy tickets online.
In the evening before the planned visit, it turned out that there were already enough of those for Entrance 1 in all morning hours, so I chose ‘Entrance 2’ and program H. This includes a ride with a panoramic vehicle, a walk along the Upper Lakes, a ride with an electric boat on Lake Kozjak, a walk through the canyon of the Lower Lakes to the Great Waterfall, a walk on the eastern side of the canyon and return with a panoramic vehicle. This way you can experience most of the area, but due to the length (around 9 kilometers, lasting 4-6 hours), except at the junction with other trails and around the most popular Great Waterfall, there was not too much crowd.
Tara could not go unnoticed by many Asian visitors. Either they were very scared of her (“wolf, wolf …”) and retreated from the trail or (“iii, how beautiful dog …”) they photographed her so that she also learned how to pose … 🙂
